Today, we looked at the difference between theoretical and experimental probability with hands-on activities using colour tiles, dice, and cards. Students practiced calculating both types of probability in the form of fractions, percents, and ratios. We had a lot of fun and some great discussions!
Mme Killam Today we were able to review probability and what the student's remembered from last year. Students are expected to know how to show probability with a fraction, a ratio, as well as a percentage. Here are some questions we looked at today:
See you Friday! Mme. Roach Algebra quiz will be given back on Tuesday as there is no school for students tomorrow (Friday May 3) and Monday (May 6th) due to PD Days and Teachers AGM. Today we reviewed our circle unit which included: radius, diameter, circumference, area, and circular graphs. There was also extra help offered today at lunch which 5 students took advantage of. When we return on Tuesday we will be entering the world of probability and students will need to understand different ways of graphing to present their data to the class.
Until then, Mme Roach |
